Review: The Grand Finale by Janet Evanovich

grand-finaleBerry Knudsen had a talent for disaster, but when she climbed a tree to rescue a kitten, she wasn’t prepared for the scrumptious hunk undressing in a nearby window, or her dive downward that smashed Jake Sawyer’s pizza and won his heart! But was there room in her chaotic schedule for a risk-taking inventor with dreams?

Berry took classes, delivered pizzas, and cared for three eccentric old ladies she rescued from the train station. But Jake thrived on a challenge, and he could be very inventive. Could he teach her there was time to make butterscotch pudding and let herself be loved?

I love just about everything Janet Evanovich writes. THE GRAND FINALE is no exception. I have read a couple of other reviews that trash the believe-ability (is that a word?) of this book. I found it completely fun and believable in a happily ever after way. I don’t think the book was supposed to be some grand love story for the ages. It is the perfect little escape and not to be taken so seriously. I laughed out loud and enjoyed every minute of this book

One of my favorite quotes about romance novels comes from Janet Evanovich “Romance novels are birthday cake and life is often peanut butter and jelly. I think everyone should have lots of delicious romance novels lying around for those times when the peanut butter of life gets stuck to the roof of your mouth.” I  intend to keep this and all of my other Evanovich books around for just that reason!
