Brody Brown has always been responsible for others. After his parents’ death, he gave up a promising artistic career to care for his younger brother and sister. Now, with his siblings grown, Brody owns his own business, has a nice house, makes a nice living, and for the first time in years he’s on his own.

Elise Sorenson has come to Seattle with her young daughter to find peace. After years as a world-famous ballerina—(and just as many years in a marriage-gone-bad)—she’s looking for neither love nor attention. But she finds both in the handsome, honest man who befriends her with no strings attached.

More than friends, Brody and Elise discover in each other what they need—wild, physical passion without commitment. But it’ll take a shadow from Elise’s past to make them look beyond what they need—to what they truly desire.

The 1st book in the series, LAID BARE, was one of my favorite books on 2009. I have bought several copies for Christmas/Birthday presents and recommended it to countless people. I was lucky enough to get a galley copy of COMING UNDONE which releases in January 2010. I am just in awe of the way Ms. Dane writes. The emotion and depth of feeling expressed in these books is amazing. COMING UNDONE features Brody and Elise. They both have pasts that haunt them in one way or another, but have forged lives for themselves that are fulfilling and happy. Even with family and friends, there is something missing, something the might find in each other if they give it a chance. Elise’s growth throughout the book is amazing and incredibly realistic. The emotional turmoil that Elise is thrown into when things from the past find their way into the future were heart-wrenching and I couldn’t put the book down until I knew that Elise, her daughter, and Brody were going to be okay. What I love so much about the book is how the characters are flawed and human – someone the reader can relate to. The reader is also treated to appearances by the characters from past books. We get to see Erin, Ben, and Todd from LAID BARE and how their relationship has grown, Adrian and Cope also make an appearance. The only thing bad I can say is that I have to wait almost a whole year until Cope’s story.
