Charlotte Fallon let her guarded virtue fall once - and she’s paid dearly for it ever since. She swore she’d never succumb to men’s desires again. But even a village spinster’s life miles from temptation can’t save her from a sister with no shame whatsoever. Or a heart that longs for more, whatever the cost…
Sir Michael Bayard found more than he expected in his bed when he finally joined his new mistress. He’d fantasized about her dewy skin and luscious curves, assured her understanding that what passed between them was mere dalliance. but he didn’t expect the innocence and heat of her response in his arms. Nor her surprisingly sharp tongue once she was out of them…
A few days of abandon cannot undo the hard-learned lessons of a lifetime. Nor can an honest passion burn away the restraints of society’s judgments. Unless, of course, one believes in nonsense like true love…
This is a really good debut! I wasn’t sure if this unique premise was going to work for me, but it was so much more than I expected. Mistaken identities lead to love for Charlotte and Micheal. Micheal finds what he expects to be his mistress in his bed, but doesn’t find out until the next morning that the woman he had amazing sex with is his mistress’ sister. I loved Charlotte’s reaction and subsequent escape attempts. MISTRESS BY MISTAKE has a lot of humorous moments. Plus, this book is HOT! There is a lot of sex, and it is so well written. The story is moved forward through the different encounters between Charlotte and Micheal. I don’t think one scene was thrown in for titillation.
MISTRESS BY MISTAKE will be the Fabulous Friday giveaway this week.
Sam Cooper (”Coop”) has just become the most eligible bachelor in NYC. Now that he has foiled a jewelry store robbery and has been rewarded the ring of his choice, single women all over the city are fawning over the crime reporter. But Coop isn’t interested in the admirers sending racy underwear his way. His attention is centered solely on Lexie Davis, the only woman in the city who claims not to be interested.
Instead, free-spirited Lexie is interested in Coop’s antique ring, and its potentially scandalous history in her family. But Coop is quickly becoming more than just her route to the ring. When his investigation starts to uncover the truth, will she trust her heart - and her family secrets - to this most eligible bachelor.
KISS ME IF YOU CAN is fantastic. Coop and Lexie are such a fun couple and I loved how neither really fights their attraction to each other. This book is full of fun secondary characters including the Lexie’s Lucy-and-Ethel-like grandmother and grandmother’s best friend. These two older ladies made me laugh out loud several times. Coop and Lexie working together to find out the mystery behind the ring was another favorite part. I loved how Coop treated her as an equal. So many times I’ve read a book, even contemporaries, where the man tries to keep the woman from knowing certain things and tries to solve the problem without her help. Not in this book. This is a perfect contemporary romance and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!
Holly Bardwell is running from her past mistakes. Straight into the arms of the Colter brothers.
Colters’ Legacy, Book 1
Adam, Ethan and Ryan aren’t looking for women. They’re looking for a woman. One woman they know will share their lives and their beds. They’re losing hope they’ll find her, that is until Adam discovers Holly lying in the snow just yards from their cabin.
Adam knows she’s the one the minute he holds her in his arms, and as soon as his brothers see her, they know it too. The only problem is convincing Holly of that fact—and protecting her from the danger of her past.
This book has been re-edited and revised. Includes an expanded ending and a new, never-before published short story sequel.
Warning: This title contains the following: explicit sex, graphic language, ménage a quatre, violence.
I am a huge fan-girl of Maya Banks. I don’t think that she can write a bad book. COLTERS’ WOMAN is a fantastic book. What could be wrong about three sexy men wanting to take care and love one woman?? These brothers are some very sexy specimens and Holly is one lucky girl. After finding Holly freezing to death, Adam and his brothers are instantly drawn to her. Holly is the one with the interesting story in this book. She has run away from something very bad and can’t believe that she is truly safe with with these big, sexy men. I loved how the different men related to her in different ways - each giving her something different and taking something different in return. This newer version of the book includes a glimpse into the future at the end. I loved the short story “Callie’s Meadow” that takes place 8 years later. I can’t wait to read the next book - COLTERS’ LADY about the children of the Colter brothers and Holly.
Chelsea Ross’s acting career has been a total bust. The closest she ever came to stardom was her brilliant performance as “Pretty Dead Girl #1.” But leaving Hollywood to become a personal assistant to a famous hockey player could be her stupidest career move ever.
MORE TROUBLE…
Injured superstar Mark Bressler’s glory days are over. The bad-boy ex-jock could at least be civil to the pint-sized, pink-haired bombshell who the Seattle Chinooks hired to be his P.A. If Chelsea didn’t need the money, she’d be running from the world’s biggest jerk as fast as her feet could carry her.
BIG TROUBLE!
Chelsea can deal with Mark’s rotten attitude and dark moods. The problem is those biceps and that red-hot bod! And when the bad boy starts to put the moves on her, Chelsea knows it’s time she banished him to the penalty box…if only she could resist the kind of trouble he has in mind!
This is another fantastic book by Rachel Gibson. I love this series of books featuring the Seattle Chinooks. There isn’t much actual hockey in this book, since Mark has been terribly injured, but there are appearances by characters from previous books. Mark is a pain for the first part of the book because of his injury. He treats those around him badly, but it is almost forgivable given his injury. I love how Chelsea doesn’t put up with his crap. She never calls him on it, but seems to just ignore it and do her job. How could he help but fall in love with her? The one thing that I didn’t understand was how Chelsea’s family, especially her sister Bo, could equate a breast reduction with mutilation. It didn’t make sense and was never really explained. One of the things I loved most about Mark was how he accepted her decision to have the surgery as something she should do if she really wanted too - even though he loved her big breasts. The ending was a bit abrupt for me, but I seem to always feel that way with Gibson’s books.
