Review: Kiss Me If You Can by Carly Phillips

64378958Summary of the book:

Sam Cooper (“Coop”) has just become the most eligible bachelor in NYC. Now that he has foiled a jewelry store robbery and has been rewarded the ring of his choice, single women all over the city are fawning over the crime reporter. But Coop isn’t interested in the admirers sending racy underwear his way. His attention is centered solely on Lexie Davis, the only woman in the city who claims not to be interested.

Instead, free-spirited Lexie is interested in Coop’s antique ring, and its potentially scandalous history in her family. But Coop is quickly becoming more than just her route to the ring. When his investigation starts to uncover the truth, will she trust her heart – and her family secrets – to this most eligible bachelor.

KISS ME IF YOU CAN is fantastic. Coop and Lexie are such a fun couple and I loved how neither really fights their attraction to each other. This book is full of fun secondary characters including the Lexie’s Lucy-and-Ethel-like grandmother and grandmother’s best friend. These two older ladies made me laugh out loud several times. Coop and Lexie working together to find out the mystery behind the ring was another favorite part. I loved how Coop treated her as an equal. So many times I’ve read a book, even contemporaries, where the man tries to keep the woman from knowing certain things and tries to solve the problem without her help. Not in this book. This is a perfect contemporary romance and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!

the book girl gives KISS ME IF YOU CAN a 5/5!
