I’ve made my book list, baked muffins for the family to eat for breakfast, and am ready to read!!
I’ll be reading the rest of my October review books and I hope to get to a few November ones too. This is my list of books I hope I can get to during the read-a-thon.
SECOND CHANCES - Lauren Dane
BACKSTAGE PASS – Olivia Cunning
EDGE OF SIGHT – Roxanne St. Clare
TWELVE NIGHTS OF CHRISTMAS – Sarah Morgan
THE EARL’S MISTLETOE BRIDE – Joanna Maitland
MIND GAMES / DOUBLE CROSS – Carolyn Crane
FOUR PLAY – Maya Banks and Shayla Black
Hour 1 – 9-10am – I started re-reading INDULGENCE IN DEATH last night, so I’m going to finish it before starting any of the books I planned to read today. I’m more than halfway through and since it is a re-read it shouldn’t take me long to finish it! Every read-a-thon starts with a small meme, so here are my answers:
Where are you reading from today? Broken Arrow, Oklahoma
3 facts about me … I have three kiddos, I’m working on my 5th novel (this will be the one I get published – I just know it), and I have a weakness for peanut butter m&ms.
How many books do you have in your TBR pile for the next 24 hours? 8
Do you have any goals for the read-a-thon (i.e. number of books, number of pages, number of hours, or number of comments on blogs)? My only goal is to not get distracted. With three kids it will be easier said than done. My husband is taking them outside for the morning so I’ll at least make it that long.
Hour 3 – 11am-12pm – I’m still reading INDULGENCE IN DEATH. The kids are just now going outside so I’ve had to do some Mom type stuff. It is my hope to read straight through the next three hours and then I’ll take a little break.
Hour 6 – 2pm-3pm – I’m not doing to great. I keep getting distracted by the kids and husband. We have a computer rule in our house that the kids are only allowed to be on the computers from 3pm-5pm. Today I’m letting them get on a little early so that I can have some quite time. They are very happy! Still reading INDULGENCE IN DEATH, but I’m on the last twenty pages so I will finish this hour for sure!
Hour 8 – 4pm-5pm – I finally finished INDULGENCE IN DEATH. I love ready the In Death books – it’s like visiting with old friends. I started and have read about half of SECOND CHANCES by Lauren Dane. So far I’m loving the book and can’t wait to keep reading. I’m going to take a break from 5pm-8pm and spend time with the family. We have a movie night on Saturday nights and tonight we are watching the first disk from the first season on Duck Tales, lol. I will probably not post again until 8pm!
Hour 12 – 8pm-9pm – Break over!! I know have two kids in bed, one playing games online, and the hubby is at work. This will be when my “real” reading time starts. I’m picking back up with SECOND CHANCES and hope to finish it in the next hour or so.
Hour 12 is time for the half-way meme:

Good luck! Can’t wait to hear how this goes…
Your blog is so adorable! I love the layout. I too have a weakness for peanut butter m&ms, in fact I’ve already consumed my fair share since the beginning of the readathon!
The party’s just starting to pop
And you’re already having fun.
Don’t let the momentum stop
And get some reading done!
Mmmm, muffins! Sounds like you’re having a good readathon so far!
Just checking in! Got back from lunch and about to start on my 2nd block of reading time! I hope you are hanging in there and doing great
Hug the kiddos for me
My husband just brought our daughter to swim class…I’m trying to take advantage of the peace and quiet!
Enjoy
Hope you get your books read!
1, 2, 3, 4
Hope your book isn’t a bore
5, 6, 7, 8
And your readathon is going great!
I absolutely love your blog layout. Happy reading!
A thought to mull over: “The best of a book is not the thought which it contains, but the thought which it suggests; just as the charm of music dwells not in the tones but in the echoes of our hearts.” — John Greenleaf Whittier
Enjoy your reading!
The hour grows late
My cheers are lame
Hope you’re still reading
And your eyes aren’t aflame!
Let’s go
Let’s go, chip in, it’s time to cheer,
It’s simple, yell what you hear,
Go Reader Go,
Go Reader Go,
Fire up and scream,
Read
Read Read!
Glad one of us is a night owl! Go Go Go!
Keep up the great reading! You’re doing great! The muffins will no doubt help til late!
