Review: ROCK HARD by Olivia Cunning

95311971From the back of the book:

An ultimatum can break your heart…

Every night lead singer Sed Lionheart whips thousands of women into a frenzy of desire with his voice alone. But no other man can touch Jessica the way he did…

If you’re not willing to break all the rules…

It shattered her heart, but law students Jessica broke off her engagement with Sed, determined to be successful on her own terms. But no other man can hold a candle to Sed…

Then a chance meeting and tortuously close quarters lead to uncontrollable flares of passion and rediscovery of their unique penchant for public encounters. Now, in addition to the risk of mutual heartbreak every time they get together, they’re in danger of truly scandalous public exposure…

This is book two in the Sinners on Tour series. I wasn’t a huge fan of the first book, but was intrigued by Sed so I wanted to read this book. I really liked the relationship between Sed and Jessica, but there was so much that happened during the book that felt like a soap opera. Several over the top injuries and misunderstandings that could be very easily resolved if people would just listen to each other. These things overshadowed the romance for me. I loved that Sed and Jessica were reunited, but everything else was just too much!

Also, and this is totally just something that bugged me and has nothing to do with the story, every time I saw “Sed” my eyes would read it as she. Several times I had to backtrack and reread a sentence to understand who it was talking about.

the book girl gives ROCK HARD a 3/5

  1. Hmmm…I downloaded BACKSTAGE PASS when it was free for Kindle but haven’t read it yet. I didn’t buy it because reviews were so mixed. Doesn’t sound like this one is particularly great either!

  2. I have heard very mixed things about this series…. I’m not to sure it is for me!
