Review: JUST LIKE HEAVEN by Julia Quinn

985560501From the back of the book:

A) a really bad violinist

B) still miffed at being nicknamed “Bug” as a child

C) NOT in love with her older brother’s best friend

A) the Earl of Chatteris

B) regrettably prone to sprained ankles

C) NOT in love with his best friend’s younger sister

D) all of the above

A) eat quite a bit of chocolate cake

B) survive a deadly fever AND the world’s worst musical performance

C) fall quite desperately in love

It’s Julia Quinn at her best, so you KNOW the answer is….

D) all of the above

I loved this book so much. It is a simple, sweet romance and exactly what I wanted it to be. Honoria and Marcus are both serious people. Marcus isn’t your typical hero – he is shy andĀ reserved. I loved his character and found his “courting” to be adorable. Honoria is a character that I couldn’t wait to read, because she is one of the infamous Smythe-Smith girls. The many appearances in the Bridgerton novels made it impossible to pass this one up. I had to find out about the girl that performs in those horrible musical evenings. I wasn’t disappointed. I love that she knows she can’t play the violin and that the musicals are dreadful, but that she continues to participate out of a love for her family and tradition.

JUST LIKE HEAVEN is the perfect book for a summer day out by the pool – as long as you don’t get too caught up and forget to reapply the sunscreen. (which is exactly what happened to this book girl!)

the book girl gives JUST LIKE HEAVEN a 5/5
