Review: NEWBORN BABY FOR CHRISTMAS by Fiona Lowe

About the book:

Georgie and Hamish have been best friends forever. So Hamish can’t refuse when Georgie asks him for the Christmas present she’s spent her whole life waiting for—a baby! But seeing a very pregnant Georgie changes everything. Not only is Hamish going to be a father, but suddenly he’s falling for the mother of his child….

Georgie wants a baby and nothing is going to stop her. When she thinks about her future child she doesn’t want to have some mystery donor as the father so she asks her best friend Hamish. Hamish doesn’t want children or marriage ever for reasons that he doesn’t share with Georgie. He agrees to donating his sperm if she promises to not include him in anything to do with the baby. I loved Georgie, but couldn’t understand Hamish until close to the end of the book. He comes across as a bit of a jerk toward Georgie, but there is a reason why and once it’s explained his actions make sense. I loved Hamish’s revelations in regard to Georgie. He goes through a lot of changes through the story and realizes what’s important to him. Georgie also goes through changes – her pregnancy puts lots of things in perspective for her. The characters have lots of different layers and there is more going on than it seems. I loved how much Hamish has to work through for his happily ever after with Georgie and how she opens her heart to him in the end.
