About the book:
Lady Eve’s Got The Perfect Plan
Pretty, petite Evie Windham has been more indiscreet than her parents, the Duke and Duchess of Moreland, suspect. Fearing that a wedding night would reveal her past, she’s running out of excuses to dodge adoring swains. Lucas Denning, the newly titled Marquis of Deene, has reason of his own for avoiding marriage. So Evie and Deene strike a deal, each agreeing to be the other’s decoy. At this rate, matrimony could be avoided indefinitely…until the two are caught in a steamy kiss that no one was supposed to see.
The Windham Series is one of my favorite and I have loved almost all of the books. I have especially loved the books featuring the Windham sisters. Evie is the youngest of the Windhams and has always a bit in the background. Seven years before this story takes place Evie was the victim of a man who was after her families money. He used her and she hasn’t gotten over it. Very few people know the truth of what happened to her, so they don’t understand why she doesn’t want to marry. When Evie and Deene are caught in a compromising position and forced to marry they each have to learn to be honest and work together to make their marriage thrive. I got a little irritated that they wouldn’t tell each other whole truths, but in the end I loved their happily ever after. There are lots of little things I loved about the story – the way Deene takes care of Evie, the way she takes care of him, the way the learn about each other. I also love how they don’t give up on each other. Even though they have obstacles and challenges they both fight for each other and don’t give up on their marriage. The story flows perfectly and we get lots of glimpses into the lives of the other Windhams. I’m looking forward to Jenny’s story later this year.
the book girl gives LADY EVE’S INDISCRETION a 4/5
