Review: ONE NIGHT WITH A COWBOY by Cat Johnson

About the book:

One Sweet Ride. . .

Oh yeah. A single look at the leggy blonde in the stands and Tucker Jenkins is ready to buck all night long. It’s time to forget all about his cheating ex and his usual hands off policy.

One Hot Night. . .

Becca Hart is an East Coast professor. Not a buckle bunny. But no degree can prepare her for the moves of the sexy bull rider she hooks up with at her first rodeo. . .or the shock of finding him at her first Oklahoma State University staff meeting.

One Happy Ending. . .

Tuck knows it’s all about holding on, no matter how wild the ride. Now he just has to convince Becca that a rough start out of the chute doesn’t mean they aren’t a smokin’ combination. . .

I was worried when I started reading this book and realized it was set in part at Oklahoma State University. I try not to read books set in places I’m really familiar with because I tend to over analyze the setting and not enjoy the story. Since I spent my college years (and met my fabulous husband) at OSU I know just about everything there is to know about Stillwater, the campus and the surrounding area. The author did a great job of describing the area and I didn’t get distracted by the setting at all. ONE NIGHT WITH A COWBOY is a sexy story with a lot of heart. I loved the characters. Becca is strong, but vulnerable after a series of upsets. She starts the book losing her job and her boyfriend. Then she turns her whole life upside down moving from New York to Oklahoma. She knows that she isn’t  ready for a relationship, but can’t help the attraction she feels for Tuck. Tucker is as alpha as they come and one the best alpha heroes I’ve read in a long time. There isn’t much he can’t do and do well. He’s a bull rider, a soldier, and a god in the bedroom. Plus, he has a protective streak a mile wide. He’s also coming out of a bad relationship and shy about starting something serious. Their relationship evolves at a slow pace and without them really knowing how serious they are becoming. I loved the chemistry between the characters and how they overcome everything to find their happily ever after.

the book girl gives ONE NIGHT WITH A COWBOY a 5/5
