About the book:
SOMETIMES THE BEST MAN IS THE ONE YOU LEAST EXPECT…
Faith Holland left her hometown after being jilted at the altar. Now a little older and wiser, she’s ready to return to the Blue Heron Winery, her family’s vineyard, to confront the ghosts of her past, and maybe enjoy a glass of red. After all, there’s some great scenery there….
Like Levi Cooper, the local police chief—and best friend of her former fiance. There’s a lot about Levi that Faith never noticed, and it’s not just those deep green eyes. The only catch is she’s having a hard time forgetting that he helped ruin her wedding all those years ago. If she can find a minute amidst all her family drama to stop and smell the rose, she just might find a reason to stay at Blue Heron, and finish that walk down the aisle.
THE BEST MAN is a wonderful story of finding love with the one person you least expect. After being left at the altar by her perfect man, Faith left her home and family to try to find someone new away from everyone who knew her as part of the perfect couple. But all she found were cheaters and gay men. She decides that it is time to return home and just focus on herself instead of trying to find someone. She realizes that she much confront her past (and the man who left her at the altar) in order to truly have a future. The only down side is having to face Levi Cooper, the best man at her ill-fated wedding and the one man who pushed all her buttons in the wrong way. I loved Levi and Faith together. The scenes where he can’t help himself and he kisses her without really wanting to are so romantic. There was a little too much of some of Faith’s family for me (the bickering grandparents really got on my nerves), but for the most part I enjoyed the whole story. Faith changes throughout the book as she realizes what she really needs and wants from a relationship and Levi changes his opinion of Faith as he gets to really know her. I liked how their past encounters are woven through the story so that the reader knows that Levi was really the best man for Faith all along it just took them a while to realize it.
the book girl gives THE BEST MAN a 4/5

I’ve tried several Higgans books and they just don’t do it for me…I can’t figure out why. Maybe her writing style? This sounds like a good story premise but I think I’ll have to skip it…
CANNOT WAIT. I LOVE HER BOOKS.
