About the book:
She Woke Up Married
When Lady Georgette Thorold awoke she saw . . . her corset hanging from the armoire . . . a very handsome, very naked Scotsman lying beside her . . . and a wedding ring on her finger!
Before the attractive stranger can tell her his name, Georgette does the only sensible thing—she runs for it.
Little does she know, James MacKenzie isn’t clear on what happened the night before either. All he knows is that his money is missing and the stunning woman who just ran from the room is either his wife or a thief . . . or possibly both.
What happens in Scotland when two complete strangers fall madly, deeply in love?
WHAT HAPPENS IN SCOTLAND is an enchanting debut. From the very beginning I was hooked by James and Georgette’s story. I loved the humor and romance. Georgette can’t remember what happened the night before because of too much brandy. After a lifetime of obeying every rule and not finding happiness she must decide if she wants to continue on that path or take a new one with her mysterious husband. James is knows for doing the sensible thing…now. He works hard to make sure that no gossip can get back to his father, so marrying a strange woman while drunk isn’t the sort of thing he would do. Georgette and James spend a good amount of the first half of the book chasing each other down and learning about their night together. At times I wanted them to just find each other, but I loved the way things unfold and the insights into the characters we get while they search for each other. The chemistry between the two characters is off the charts. Once they are reunited with each other (and get past the whole thievery thing) there are some incredibly sexy and romantic moments between the two of them.
WHAT HAPPENS IN SCOTLAND is everything I look for in a story – wonderful characters, romance, and a happily ever after that leaves a smile on my face. I can’t wait to read more from Jennifer McQuiston.
the book girl gives WHAT HAPPENS IN SCOTLAND a 5/5
