Review: Lush by Lauren Dane

About the book:

Mary Whaley has her hands full running a successful catering company and overseeing her supper club. She has everything she ever wanted—or so she thought. When she meets ridiculously hot and very dirty rock star Damien Hurley at her friend’s engagement party, the attraction she feels is overpowering—and she isn’t about to deny herself.

Damien is used to a hard and fast life. He and two of his brothers started a band when they were fresh out of high school—then they hit the big time and stayed there. He’s also a legendary madman on the stage and in the bedroom. But when he meets Mary, something clicks, and the bad boy starts thinking he may have finally found something good.

What begins as a series of fleeting trysts soon gets much more complicated. Damien can’t figure out why Mary doesn’t want more from him. And before long, it’s Damien who wants more from Mary. But it turns out Mary is no stranger to celebrity news, and he’s got a very big job ahead of him: proving that he’s worth more than a one-night stand…

If you’ve read this blog for a while you know that I’m a huge Lauren Dane fangirl and that I especially love the Brown/Delicious books. I’m always excited when a new book is released. Luckily I received a review copy of LUSH and got to read it early! (I also ordered a paper copy – something I hardly ever do – so that I would have it to go along with the other books in the series.) LUSH is a steamy, sexy read. Mary doesn’t plan on a real relationship developing between her and Damien. He’s a world-famous rock star and she’s a cook who doesn’t aspire to do anything more than make good food for her family and friends and be happy. She doesn’t want his lifestyle and she doesn’t really believe that he would want to be with her in a real relationship either. To Mary it’s a fling – some extremely hot sex with an extremely hot guy. Damien feels differently almost from the beginning. I love the connection between Damien and Mary. Their attraction is off the chart. The relationship that develops between them is sweet and sexy. I love that Mary doesn’t just fall into Damien’s lifestyle because he’s the famous rock star. She holds her own and doesn’t let him rule the relationship. If anything, she holds the power. There are lots of appearances from the Browns and the other Delicious characters. LUSH is another great addition to the Delicious series.
the book girl gives LUSH a 5/5
