About the book:
Alice Shepard needs one thing: a date for her sister’s wedding. And not just any date. A hunk who will make her fiancé rue the day he left her for her best friend. Her drop-dead gorgeous neighbor fits the bill—even if he is a bit quirky and never comes out during the day—and Alice has downed just enough appletinis to ask him. But she makes it quite clear that there will be no funny business.
Spending a week on a cruise ship full of humans while sleeping close to his sexy next-door neighbor sounds like a helluva bad idea to vampire Noah Thorpe. But his friends need time to get him out of a shotgun wedding—a vampire bonding that will tie his fate to a female vampire he’s never met. And Alice’s offer comes at just the right time.
What could possibly go wrong?
DON’T BITE THE BRIDESMAID is a fun, flirty light paranormal romance. I really enjoyed Alice and Noah. Alice was wronged by her ex-fiance and wants nothing more than to show him that she’s moved on. Her sexy, mysterious next door neighbor Noah was just the man to do it with. Noah takes an instant dislike to the ex-fiance and his possessive side comes out in a big way. There are lots of sparks between the couple and their pretend romance quickly becomes a reality. My only problem with the book is the odd inclusion of Alice’s absent brother and his vampire ex, Olivia. They are used to explain some things, but they weren’t talked about earlier in the story – even though they are at the wedding of Alice’s other sibling, Cindy – and they aren’t mentioned after. I felt like I had either missed something (an earlier book?) or that there would be more about them later on in the story (there wasn’t). The writing was okay, the story moved at a quick pace, and the paranormal elements are light.
the book girl gives DON’T BITE THE BRIDESMAID a 3/5
