About the book:

The holidays are a time for wishes, magic and, of course, love. Celebrate the season with this delightful collection of Christmas tales.

What better way for Connor Talbot, Earl of Redfirn, to spend the holidays than convincing Leonora Compton that the only match she needs to make is with him!

The Duke of Ashton has had three years to plan for his perfect Christmas present—the Lady Eleanor Fitzsimmons as his wife. Now, all he has to do is convince the reluctant lady …

Phin Baldwin does not believe in Christmas magic … until the clever and beautiful Ginny Overton gets it into her head to show him how wonderful it can be when wishes come true.

Just returned from the Crusades, marriage is the last thing on Sir Caerwyn’s mind. But will he be able to resist Lady Nia, the thief of his boyhood heart, when she tempts him yet again?

Responsible Ethan Weatherstone is determined to save Penelope Rutledge—and her reputation—from her silly scheme, but can he save himself from the temptation of her lips?

I really enjoyed this anthology. Each story is a quick read and full of romance. The stories are full of hope, love, and the magic of the holiday season. I really liked that each story is different. They take place in different times and have different kinds of heroes and heroines. I didn’t feel like I was reading the same story over and over like I sometimes do with other anthologies. I believe this would be the perfect book to read in the week leading up to Christmas. Each story can be read in one sitting and would provide the perfect escape from the holiday craziness. Plus, at $0.99 for Kindle and Nook FIVE GOLDEN RINGS isn’t going to break the holiday budget!!

About the book:

Holiday Haven by Vicki Lewis Thompson

All Ben Rhodes wants for Christmas is to be left alone. And yet, in a fit of Christmas-cheer-induced insanity, he agrees to help beautiful shelter director Tansy Dexter find homes for all her rambunctious animals. Little does he know that the one truly in need of a loving home this season…is him.

Home for Christmas by Catherine Mann

Shelby Conrad has had more than her fair share of silent nights. But even though her husband, Tech Sergeant Alex Conrad, is coming home in time for Christmas, Shelby isn’t sure he’s in time to save their marriage. Can a road trip to deliver three shelter dogs to their new homes teach the couple that the most precious gift of all is hope?

A Puppy for Will by Kathie DeNosky

Will Parker hasn’t exactly had all his hopes and dreams met, but work has filled the gaps in his life. Or so he thinks…until an energetic and large Saint Bernard foster puppy and Will’s cute neighbor Macie Fairbanks introduce him to the best thing about Christmas and life—unconditional love.

All three of these stories are tied together by animals and The Haven – a no-kill animal shelter. In each story the animals play an important role in getting the couple together or back-together. I loved each story. They are sweet, quick reads that highlight the best part of the holiday season. The joy of something new and special or the hope of regaining something that was thought lost forever. Even though each book has a similar element (the animals) they are unique. RESCUING CHRISTMAS is a wonderful holiday read.

The Sins of His Past by Roxanne St. ClaireFor one incredible night, Kendra Locke gave Deuce Monroe everything she had. Then he walked away without a backward glance to chase his big-league dreams. Now after one too many daredevil stunts, he’s back in his hometown ready to pick up where they left off—but Kendra has no intention of giving in so easily….

Tangling with Ty by Jill Shalvis

Dr. Nicole Mann, a child prodigy who graduated high school at the age of thirteen, has no room in her mind or her schedule for romance. But when the architect renovating her apartment turns out to have a charming Irish accent, all bets are off—and Ty Patrick O’Grady plans to use every trick in his book to stay in her life for good.

Whatever Reilly Wants by Maureen Child

Connor Reilly only has a few weeks to go in his “no sex for ninety days” bet with his brothers—and he figures no woman is safer to be around than his best friend, Emma Jacobsen. Until Emma shows up at a bar in a short skirt and high heels, and suddenly seems anything but safe!

KISS ME, I’M IRISH is a fun anthology featuring three previously released novellas by Roxanne St. Claire, Jill Shalvis, and Maureen Child. All three stories are fantastic.

The Sins of His Past, by Roxanne St. Claire, features one of my favorite tropes (best friends little sister) done a little differently. The hero and heroine have an emotional past and he’s finally wised up to know that he let something fantastic get away.

The characters in Tangling with Ty are full of spirit and kept me fully engrossed. I felt that they were a little different from the heroes/heroines that Shalvis has been writing lately and liked the difference.

Whatever Reilly Wants, by Maureen Child, has another one of my favorite tropes (friends to lovers). I absolutely loved the heroine – Emma. I also really liked that the characters undergo growth in the process of falling in love.

KISS ME, I’M IRISH is a fun anthology that will delight contemporary romance fans when it’s released in February.

It’s a family celebration you’ll never forget…

Now that she’s reunited with her sister, Tori Fuller doesn’t regret a moment of her life. But she’s never forgotten
the guy who got away. Heart surgeon Sam McCormack is as sexy and irresistible as he was back in  college…and ready to prove to the woman he’s always loved that it’s never too late to start over.…

Lauren Sutcliffe never expected her mother’s sixtieth birthday bash to lead to romance. But gorgeous Aussie
builder Adam Hunter wants to stake his claim on the bossy, burned-by-love caterer. He wants to share all her tomorrows, if Lauren will just say yes!

David Longwood isn’t looking for love…until a family reunion throws him in the path of free spirit Kinsey McKeever. Suddenly the buttoned-down lawyer is rediscovering his passionate inner self and dreaming about forever after… with Kinsey.

When I started reading A SUMMER REUNION I wasn’t sure if it was for me. The first story features an older couple and I just don’t enjoy stories when the couple is older than my parents.I continued on and I was glad that I did. All three stories are tied together by the family reunion and 6oth birthday of Peggy Longwood. I enjoyed each of the stories, with AND ALWAYS! being my favorite. I really liked the family tie in all of the books. Each story has a HEA and the stories happen in chronological order. The anthology is full of emotion and heart – I found myself happily teary eyed at the end of the book.

Sparkling days, crackling fires, long steamy nights…Christmas is all about making memories. In four delicious tales of seduction and romance, New York Times bestselling author Lori Foster brings you all the pleasures of the season – and then some…

Booker Dean knows exactly what he wants for Christmas: his next-door neighbor, Frances Kennedy. And he’s got a gift planned for her that involves lots of delicious unwrapping.

Officer Parker Ross hates Christmas, while Lily Donaldson lives for it. But he’s willing to be converted, especially when Lily is the one doing the persuading.

Sergeant Osbourne Decker suspects pet psychic Marci Churchill is barking mad, but she’s also a knockout. And when she’s accused of stealing a donkey from the local nativity scene, he can’t stop thinking about frisking her.

Furious at her cheating fiancé, Beth Monroe decides to enjoy a payback tryst with his gorgeous best friend, and finds that revenge is best served hot and sweet…

I love this anthology. I’ve read some of the stories every year for at least five years. What’s fantastic is having all the Lori Foster holiday stores in one place. I have two of them in other anthologies, but love this collection. Each story is romantic and sexy. My favorite is the second story, WHITE KNIGHT CHRISTMAS. I love Parker and his selfless attitude (even if he’s a bit of a Grinch). Any fan of holiday romance won’t be disappointed!

HOT WHISPER by LuAnn McLane – After missing her train, Claire Collins is stranded in a snowy small town with no place to stay and no hope of getting home for Christmas. When a sexy local offers Claire lodging to wait out the storm, she can’t resist. A night of eggnog lifts more than her flagging spirits, and the two decide to seek comfort from the storm between the sheets.

HOT FOR THE HOLIDAYS by Susanna Carr – Thanks to a Christmas office party gone wild, corporate rivals Rachel and Justin become much better acquainted when they indulge in a fling that Rachel desperately wants to forget. then in a twist of fate, the two find themselves stranded in a blizzard in a small town. Though both try to resist, it’s only a matter of time before they’re back in each other’s arms for more hot holiday fun.

HOT ARCTIC NIGHTS by Janice Maynard – Hallie Prentiss loses her Christmas spirit when she loses her job. A holiday stint running a B and B in the northern reaches of Alaska isn’t going to change that. But no one warned her about Daniel, the undeniable hot long-term tenant. His strong, warm arms are an irresistible temptation, and not even the cold arctic nights can dampen Hallie’s new found joy in the season.

I am a huge fan of the Christmas anthology and this one was right up my alley. Each story was different enough that I didn’t feel like I was reading the same story over and over. I’m going to break it down story by story.

HOT WHISPER by LuAnn McLane – After missing her train Claire goes home with a kind stranger, Jesse. After I got past the part where she just goes home with a complete stranger I really enjoyed this story. The attraction between Claire and Jesse is instant and I believed that they were falling in love even though it happens over a couple of days.

HOT FOR THE HOLIDAYS by Susanne Carr – This was my least favorite story. The absurdity of Rachel thinking she was attracted to Justin because of Christmas. I was also bothered by their sexual encounters. She doesn’t want to be attracted to him, but then she pulls him behind a Christmas tree in their office and has sex with him. The story has a great ending, but it was hard to get past the silly stuff.

HOT ARCTIC NIGHTS by Janice Maynard – HOT ARCTIC NIGHTS was my favorite of the three. I loved everything about it. It takes place in Alaska and the main character is definitely a fish out of water. The romance between Hallie and Daniel is sweet. My only complaint is that it wasn’t long enough. I wish this had been a full length novel, so we could have had more of Hallie and Daniel.

Even though I had issues with one of the stories I really enjoyed the anthology.

47751778From the back of the book:

Lavinia Spencer has been saving her hard-earned pennies to provide her family with Christmas dinner. Days before the holiday, her brother is swindled, leaving them owing more than they can ever repay. Until a mysterious benefactor offers to settle the debt. Innocent Lavinia is stunned by what the dashing William White wants in return. Will she exchange a wicked gift for her family’s fortune?

This is the only new story in the anthology and my favorite of the three. It has a completely different take on a historical. Instead of a Duke and Duchess as the main characters, we have a woman who works for her family’s lending library and a man who works as an accountant. William Q. White (which has to be among my top 10 character names) saves all of his money so that he can buy a subscription to the library and instantly becomes enamored of Lavinia. Lavina is equally impressed with William Q. White (and yes I have to type the whole thing – just like Lavinia likes to call him by the whole thing), and when her younger brother makes a mistake with dire consequences she isn’t afraid to turn to him. I just loved everything about this novella and I cannot wait to read Ms. Milan’s first novel, PROOF OF SEDUCTION in 2010!

Bah Handsome! by Jill Shalvis

Hope’s staff sees more fire than fight in the sparks that fly as they try and bring Hope and Danny together, but only a Christmas miracle can help these unlikely lovers see the light…

It’s Hotter at Christmas by HelenKay Dimon

Hawaii’s no paradise for Marissa, who, thanks to a series of unfortunate events, can’t seem to get away from the sand to enjoy her Christmas East Coast style – with plenty of snow and slush. But tall, dark, and serious police officer Ted’s about to give this bad Santa in heels a Mele Kalikimaka she’ll never forget…

I love Christmas anthologies. I have a set that I read every year and make sure to catch the new ones when they come out. Kissing Santa Clause is a fantastic anthology. I loved all three stories. My favorite was Bah Handsome! by Jill Shalvis. The story is funny and sweet. This book is a must for Christmas romance lovers!

tails-of-loveFrom the back of the book:

In this irresistible anthology of never-before-published stories, ten award-winning and bestselling authors come together to celebrate their love of animals and the wonderful, curious ways they take part in our lives.

From Seeing Eye dogs to the cat who sits in your lap, animals are there for us in more ways than we can count. Helping us get through the day with a wag of the tail or a tilt of the head, they let us know that someone is on our side – no matter what. They also have an uncanny ability to break down barriers between people, bringing families and loved ones closer and giving strangers an excuse to strike up a conversation. In Tails of Love, each writer draws from her own unique perspective on our loyal friends – exploring the many mysterious ways animals bring love into our lives.

The authors are donation a portion of their proceeds from Tails of Live to the Animal Adoption Foundation, a charitable organization.

This was a very fun read. All of the stories are super short and get right to the point. My favorite was the story by Lori Foster. These stories made me laugh and cry (one story in particular had me bawling). My only complaint is that in one story the animals have conversations with each other and it completely took me out of the story every time it was the animals turn. But, all in all this was a great read and with the authors donating a portion of the proceeds to the Animal Adoption Foundations it’s for a great cause too!

winter-heatFrom the back of the book:

Weekend Pass Ski Resort…where winter becomes your private wonderland! Hot tubs, skiing, drinks by the fire, a luxurious and intimate setting – everything you need to ensure your weekend is…

For two cynical best friends who believe beginning an affair would be too much of a cliche…until they decide to share a vacation – and a bed!

For a schoolteacher eager to exchange her schoolmarm nature for that of an insatiable tigress and the undercover agent who knows how to bring out her wild side!

For a corporate gal looking to shed her office shackles with the one man who can’t afford to get carried away…

This anthology was a quick and fun read. I loved the continuation from one story to the next with a little overlapping of characters/events. The first story is WEEKEND FLING by Vicki Lewis Thompson, one of my favorite writers. Her books always have a sense of fun to them and this story is no exception. Next is WEEKEND TIGRESS by Jade Lee. This was the first time I had read anything by Ms. Lee. The story made me want to read more by this author. I loved the emotion put into this novella. I could almost feel what the main characters were feeling. The last story is WEEKEND MELTDOWN by Anna DeStefano. I really liked this story too. I laughed out loud at the antics of the female characters best friend. This was a fun and steamy read, just perfect for a winter night.
