About the book:
SHE’S STEALING HIS HEART…
Vintage boutique owner Venus Smith is stunned to realize her newest acquisition comes with a larcenous legend. Stolen years ago, the antique mermaid brooch belongs to the Clayworth family. The right thing to do would be to return it, but that means facing Connor Clayworth O’Flynn, the sexy department store heir Venus has had an unrequited crush on since childhood - and the man who helped ruin her father.
ONE KISS AT A TIME
Connor knows that Venus has never forgiven him for what happened between their families. But business isn’t personal, even though Venus’s father’s betrayal still cuts him like a knife. So when Venus proposes a deal - she’ll return his family’s brooch if he helps clear her father’s name - he reluctantly agrees. As action - packed days turn into flirtatious fall nights, it isn’t long before old memories resurface…and new desires ignite. Can two young lovers leave the past behind? Or must they first admit that all they’ve ever really wanted…is each other?
I loved this book. The relationship that develops between Venus and Connor is romantic and sweet. There is an element of the forbidden in their feelings for each other - even though they are really the only ones concerned with the rivalry between the two families - that adds a certain element to their relationship. I loved the plot of trying to figure out what had really happened with Venus’s dad and the mysterious mermaid brooch. ALL I WANT IS YOU is a perfect contemporary romance.

About the book:
SOMETIMES LOVE IS THE SIMPLEST CHOICE OF ALL
Still reeling from her husband’s untimely death, Deborah Robinson needs a fresh start. So she decides to pack up her family, box up her bookstore, and return to her grandmother’s ancestral home on Cavanaugh Island. The charming town of Sanctuary Cove holds happy memories for Deborah. And, after she spies a gorgeous stranger in the local bakery, it promises the possibility for a bright, new future.
Dr. Asa Monroe is at a crossroads. Ever since the loss of his family, he has been on a quest for faith and meaning, traveling from one town to another. When he meets Deborah, the beautiful bookstore owner with the warm eyes and sunny smile, Asa believes he has finally found a reason to stay in one place.
As friendship blossoms into romance, Deborah and Asa discover they may have a second chance at love. But small towns have big secrets. Before they can begin their new life together, the couple must confront a challenge they never expected…
This small town romance features two widowed people who find a second chance at happily ever after. I liked that both Deborah and Asa felt an instant connection to each other, but there were many complications on the way to their happily ever after. I didn’t care for the ending. Something felt like it was missing for me, but I’m not sure what. I even reread the last fifty pages and still felt the sense that I needed something more.

About the book:
Breaking rules and breaking hearts
Free-spirited Chloe lives life on the edge. Unlike her soon-to-be married sisters, she isn’t ready to settle into a quiet life running their family’s newly renovated inn. But soon her love of trouble–and trouble with love-draws the attention of the very stern, very sexy sheriff who’d like nothing better than to tame her wild ways.
Suddenly Chloe can’t take a misstep without the sheriff hot on her heels. His rugged swagger and his enigmatic smile are enough to make a girl beg to be handcuffed. For the first time, instead of avoiding the law, Chloe dreams of surrender. Can this rebel find a way to keep the peace with the straitlaced sheriff? Or will Chloe’s colorful past keep her from a love that lasts . . . and the safe haven she truly wants in a town called Lucky Harbor?
The first thing I want to say about HEAD OVER HEELS is I LOVE SAWYER. Sawyer is my new book boyfriend. He is a perfect romance hero - quiet, strong, and sexy. Chloe is fantastic too. I really liked how she was trying to be good, but had trouble settling down. While Sawyer is straight-laced and by-the-book. These two are opposites, but can’t stay away from each other. She isn’t a typical heroine. There were so many steamy scenes that I couldn’t pick a favorite. The whole book is filled with fantastic sexual tension. Chloe and Sawyer are so perfectly written and their relationship is one of the best that I’ve read in a long time. A wonderful story with the other members of the Lucky Harbor community playing their parts. I especially loved the relationship between Chloe and her best friend, Lance. This book is the third in a series, but can be read as a stand alone (but you should read the first two if you haven’t already).

About the books w/a mini review:
THINGS ARE COOLING IN THE KITCHEN…
AND IN THE BEDROOM.
Restaurant owner Phoebe Mayle thought she had it all under control. Sure, her new chef has a bad-boy reputation - and a chiseled body to match - but she’s positive she can whip him into shape.
But from the moment Nick Avalon roars into town in his Hummer, he makes her whole world sizzle. Not only has Nick take over her kitchen, he’s taken oer her mind and her body. His insatiable appetite for pleasure leaves her breathless with carnal cravings only he can satisfy. Can their hunger for each other be a recipe for a love that lasts?
This books worked for me in some ways and didn’t in other ways. I really liked Phoebe and the secondary characters. (I want her niece to have her own story. I need to know if she makes it to Paris!) Nick, on the other hand, I didn’t care for at all. He was too much of a bad boy for me. He is rarely nice to Phoebe and belittles everyone around him. His growth towards the end of the book felt too abrupt and unrealistic to me. Even though I didn’t love Nick, the story did keep me interested (mainly because I was hoping that there was something good about him or that Phoebe would kick him in the balls) and I did enjoy reading DELICIOUSLY SINFUL.
the book girl gives DELICIOUSLY SINFUL a 3/5
Irresistible temptation….
Outspoken and independent, Lady Alexa Hendrie is happiest in the quiet of the country, where she is free to run her family’s estate as she chooses. But when her brother’s recklessness forces her to London, a chance encounter with the ton’s most wicked rake - and his searing kiss - awaken a longing for adventure.
Undeniable passion…
A man of many secrets, Connor Linsley, the Earl of Killingworth, uses his rakehell reputation to avoid innocent young ladies and their marriage minded mothers. Yet even his most shocking behavior can’t dissuade Lady Alexa. From the moment her lips press against his, their fates are irrevocably sealed. together they enter a shadowy world of intrigue, deception, and desire. consumed by a passion beyond their wildest imaginings, Connor and Alexa must risk all they hold dear for a chance at love. but can they escape the danger that pursues them? Or will their own fiery attraction be their ultimate undoing?
I loved this book. Alexa is a fantastic heroine and balances Connor perfectly. She is headstrong, outspoken and tough. Together this couple can face anything. Connor is gruff and ultimately very vulnerable. The story moves at a quick pace and has just the right amount of intrigue to keep the reader turning the pages. The romance is sizzling. I loved Connor’s friends and can’t wait to read their stories.

From NetGalley:
Just how good can a bad boy be?
Olivia Bishop is no fun. That’s what her ex-husband said. And that’s what her smart bob and glasses imply. So with her trademark determination, Olivia sets out to remake her life. She’s going to spend time with her girlfriends and not throw it all away for some man. But when an outing with her book club leads her to a brewery taproom, the dark-haired beauty realizes that trouble—in the form of sexy Jamie Donovan—may be too tempting to avoid.
Jamie Donovan doesn’t mean to be bad. Sure, the wild streak in his wicked green eyes has lured the ladies before. Now it’s time to grow up. He’s even ready for a serious romance. But how can that be when Olivia, the only right woman he has ever met, already has him pegged as wrong?
BAD BOYS DO is the second book in the Donovan brother’s trilogy and features my favorite of the three main characters, Jamie. In the first book he is made out to be irresponsible and an outrageous flirt. He is an outrageous flirt, but isn’t irresponsible like his older brother thinks he is. Eric doesn’t give him any responsibility and yells constantly when things don’t go perfectly. (I’m hoping I like him more in his book, REAL MEN WILL.) Jamie is unhappy with his place at Donovan Bros. and wants to expand his responsibilities. Olivia teaches a class on restaurant start-up and Jamie is happy to see her again after meeting her one night at the bar. I loved the chemistry between these two. They are opposites, but perfect for each other. I loved how Jamie changes and comes into his own through the book. He learns what he wants when it comes to family and work. Olivia also goes through some changes. She becomes who she always should have been. I enjoyed every moment of this book.

About the books and my reviews:
From the back of the book:
HOTTER IN TEXAS
Nikki Hunt thought her night couldn’t get worse when her no-good, cheating ex ditched her at dinner, sticking her with the bill. Then she found his body stuffed in the trunk of her car and lost her two-hundred-dollar meal all over his three-thousand-dollar suit. Now not only is Nikki nearly broke, she’s a murder suspect.
Former cop turned PI, Dallas O’Connor knows what it’s like to be unjustly accused. But one look at the sexy - though skittish - suspect tells him she couldn’t hurt anyone. The lead detective, Dallas’s own brother, has the wrong woman and Dallas hopes a little late-night “undercover” work will help him prove it…
I loved this book. There are several different stories going on here with the Nikki and Dallas being the main couple. I loved all of the layers to the book. The murder investigation is helped along by Dallas’s partner’s, Austin and Tyler. Also investigating is Dallas’s brother, Tony. Tony has his own subplot with his estranged wife. I loved how Tony goes after what he wants, which is in contrast to how Dallas is handling his feelings for Nikki. I felt that these additional plot lines helped make what happens between Nikki and Dallas seem more natural. Plus, the additional characters help add depth to Nikki and Dallas - in the way they interact with others. I loved the ending to this book. It is very romantic. DON’T MESS WITH TEXAS is a fantastic contemporary with memorable characters and a wonderful romance.

From the back of the book:
He’s the man of her dreams…
In a world full of frogs, Alison Carter is determined to find her prince. Maybe her dating past is more Titanic than Love Boat, but she’s seen enough happy marriages to know that true love is possible. No matter what, she won’t give up on happily-ever-after. If she can’t find Mr. Right, she’ll simply hire someone who can.
She just doesn’t know it yet
When Brandon Scott inherits a successful matchmaking business, he thinks his prayers have been answered. Set up a few lonely ladies, collect the fee, how hard can it be? No one needs to know he’s not really a professional matchmaker - especially not his first client, the beautiful, spirited Alison. Soon he’s falling for her - and her dreams of kids and carpools. But Alison is getting close to figuring out his secret, and if she learns he’s deceived her too, she’ll walk right out the door, taking Brandon’s heart with her.
I enjoyed HEARTSTRINGS AND DIAMOND RINGS, but didn’t love it. Most of my issue with the book is how desperate Alison is to get married. If the story wasn’t so cleverly written and entertaining, I would have put this book down. But the book is cleverly written and entertaining and by the end I had thoroughly enjoyed the romance between Alison and Brandon. There is a lot of charm to this story and readers will like the heart and the fun in the story.
