FLIPPING FOR CHELSEA by Emma Holly - Not my favorite of the four stories. There was something about the characters that I just couldn’t connect to. The story moves from past to present and there was just something missing.

DIRTY/BAD/WRONG by Lauren Dane - I’m always amazed at how Lauren Dane can make me feel something even in a novella. Her writing is full of emotion and DIRTY/BAD/WRONG is no exception. I loved that there was a past relationship between Ava, Luca, and Angelo even though it isn’t shown in the story. Ava is a vulnerable character even though she tries to act tough. The boys in this story are sexy and hot! I especially loved the scenes between Luca and Angelo!

JUST FOR ONE NIGHT by Megan Hart - I had mixed feelings about this story. I loved the romance between Brian and Kerry, but hated Jeremy. I wanted Kerry to kick him to the curb from the very beginning. I had a problem with Jeremy being willing to share Kerry, but not being there to participate or observe. It was a kink I just don’t get. With Brian and Kerry I could feel real emotion in their scene’s together.

ON THE JOB by Beth Kerry - Hot, hot, hot. From the very beginning this story is hot. Again there is an emotion factor (I need emotion w/my erotic romance) that I loved. Walker is sexy and Madeline is too. I really liked the way there was something other than just the hook-up going on in the story. There is an additional plot that helped make the story great.

I have heard so many good things about this author, so I decided to try this first book in the newest series. I almost put it down after the first half. The writing is good and I really liked Lainie and Hank, but I couldn’t stand Kyle. The other thing that bothered me was the competitive nature of the men’s relationship with Lainie. I’m glad that I didn’t stop reading, because in the end I enjoyed the book. The premise is different take on the menage romance and didn’t really work for me. Both men are trying to prove they are the one for Lainie by one-upping each other in the bedroom and Lainie is caught in the middle trying to be fair to both men. I hated the push and pull her character has to go through. This story just didn’t work for me in some parts, but I did really enjoy the ending and who Lainie ends up with in the end. I really liked Ms. James writing style and will be trying the first book in the Rough Riders series soon.

I LOVE MICK!! Everything about him is *almost* perfect. I love the way he immediately puts Tara first and really pays attention to her feelings. One of my favorite parts is when he takes her to the movie premiere. It isn’t about his career or having his picture in the magazines, it is about her having fun and getting to do something unique. Mick does take his career seriously and struggles to find a balance between football and love. That’s why I said he was *almost* perfect - he has some struggles, but he wouldn’t be such a fantastic hero if he didn’t. Tara is a great character too. She is down to earth, but because of her childhood and teenage pregnancy, she doesn’t see herself as someone with who Mick would find something real. I thought her struggle to believe in his love and its consistency was very well done. Tara was written as the type of woman who wouldn’t just blindly leap at the chance to be with a man - even if she loved him. Both characters stayed very consistent to who they were. They both change throughout the book, but it is a natural change. Nathan, Tara’s son, adds so much to the relationship between Mick and Tara. Mick immediately knows how important Nathan is to Tara and respects their bond while trying to form his own with Nathan. Everything about this book is wonderful. I loved the romance and the family aspect of the story. Even though this is an erotic romance, I didn’t feel as if any of the sex scenes were over the top or gratuitous. They all fit the story and were incredibly hot! Ms. Burton really scored a touchdown with THE PERFECT PLAY! (Sorry - I couldn’t help the football pun)
