About the book:

Travis Morgan is thrilled to encounter the one woman who’s never failed to get his blood pumping. Seeing Alicia Davis again brings it all back: their fierce academic rivalry, and the fact that he never followed through on his erotic fantasies about her.

Alicia can’t resist Travis’s smoldering sensuality-or the opportunity to finally bed the man who starred in so many of her lustful daydreams in college. Unable to avoid the temptation to best Travis one more time, Alicia plans to submit to one night of pure pleasure and then leave Travis empty-handed and craving more.

When Travis wakes up and realizes Alicia’s played him, the gloves are off, and the game heats up as they each try to emerge on top-by whatever means necessary…

NO RESERVATIONS is a short, hot read. I really enjoyed the glimpse into the beginning of the relationship between Travis and Alicia. The story is based mainly on their sexual encounters, but hints at something more in the future.

About the book:

In ECSTASY, Candace, a newcomer to writing erotica, is thrilled when Charlie, a veteran of the industry, agrees to be her mentor. But neither of them ever expected that Charlie’s lessons on new positions, using toys, varying locations and role playing would spiral from verbal instruction into hands on education. Unfortunately, Candace’s deception about the new contemporary erotic romance she’s writing–where Charlie plays the starring role–is about to threaten their one chance at true love. (Steamy scenes, explicit language…and lots of emotion.)

This was a quick read and very, very sex driven. I just couldn’t connect with the characters. Charlie, who seems like a great guy, can’t get a woman to pay attention to him in the beginning. Candy is shy and bumbling when they meet and doesn’t know a lot about sex, but wants to be an erotica author. Charlie offers to mentor her and the “shy” Candy decides to strip and they have wild monkey sex at their first mentoring session. The characters didn’t stay true to themselves and switched from one way to another with every scene. This book just didn’t work for me.

About the book:

Hailey Anderson’s deep, dark secret? She’s been madly in lust with her overprotective brother’s two best friends for years. Gorgeous woodworking artist Mark Allen and sexy doctor Tony Adamo have no idea they star in her fantasies every night.

After a nasty breakup with her abusive boyfriend, Hailey’s looking for a little distance. Headed for a two-week Hawaiian vacation with her brother and his hot friends, Hailey can’t wait to feast her eyes on Mark’s and Tony’s rock-hard, ocean-slick bodies. Even if she can’t touch.

But instead of treating her like their little sister, Mark and Tony have a surprising proposition: a monogamous ménage à trois. The three of them—and no one else. Both men want Hailey and have agreed to share her. The red-hot reality is even better than the forbidden fantasy. Until Hailey’s ex threatens their newfound happiness…

I really enjoyed this book. When I started reading I thought it was going to be a typical erotic romance where there is so much sex and not as much romance. I was wrong. The relationship that developed between Mark, Tony, and Hailey is romantic and emotional. The fact that they were all friends for most of their lives added a lot to their relationship. The characters genuinely like each other. The addition of Hailey’s abusive ex-boyfriend and his threats adds to the intensity of the relationship. SHARING HAILEY is a sexy, romantic, and emotional story.

About the book:

From the moment Daphne, Lady Pomeroy, meets the mysterious Marquess of Hartwell at a masquerade ball, she’s determined to seduce him. The handsome, charming man cannot possibly be the cold, calculating lord who Society calls “Black Hart.” Risking everything, the lonely widow invites the elusive Hartwell to her dinner party…for two.

Hartwell’s arrogant reputation is built on a lie. For he has a shameful secret that keeps him in the shadows: a stutter—his downfall since childhood. He’d rather keep his mouth shut than look the fool. But he’s shocked to discover that in Daphne’s company—and in her bed—his stutter vanishes.

After one wanton evening together, Daphne is hurt when the lord lives up to his Black Hart name. Yet his reasons for leaving surprise even him. Now he must confess everything or risk losing Daphne forever.

I loved this book. Daphne is brave and goes after what she wants. Hartwell is so wonderfully complex. For such a short story (22,ooo words) the characters are completely three-dimensional and well written. I loved that Hartwell is the one who is shy and has a condition that keeps him on the edge of society. The relationship between Daphne is sexy and steamy, but also emotionally satisfying. I can’t wait to read more by this author!

About the book:

When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too—but on his own terms.

Shocked yet thrilled by Grey’s singular erotic tastes, Ana hesitates. For all the trappings of success—his multinational businesses, his vast wealth, his loving family—Grey is a man tormented by demons and consumed by the need to control. When the couple embarks on a daring, passionately physical affair, Ana discovers Christian Grey’s secrets and explores her own dark desires.

Ok. I have several different thoughts about this book. I’ve decided to do a numbered list instead of a regular review.

  1. The writing – The writing isn’t great. It’s not even good. There are sentences that make no sense. There is a confusion of British and american terms. Also, lots of repetition. It feels like it wasn’t edited.
  2. The sex – I must read a lot of dirty books, because this didn’t seem all that scandalous to me. I believe that Maya Banks and Lauren Dane’s erotic romances are much hotter. There is an abundance of naught-times in the book, but they actually do feel right within the story.
  3. The characters – This is the one thing that I liked and the reason I kept reading. Christian and Ana are both so intriguing.  I wanted to know more about them and their relationship. Christian is so aloof and doesn’t really reveal much about himself and Ana is a pretty open book.

Will I be reading the rest of the trilogy? Yes, I will. The first book ends on a cliff-hanger of sorts and I want to know what happens between the couple next.

About the book:

On leave for Thanksgiving, the last thing marine lieutenant Talia Barnett expects to find is Liam Brodie waiting for her at the airport. He’s had a starring role in her fantasies for the past two years, and although she’d love to make them a reality, she has a dark secret that prevents her from taking things further.

A former marine, Liam’s specialty is planning tactical operations, and that’s just what he plans to do to win Talia. The woman has kept him at arm’s length for too long, and this time he’s finally going to claim her-body and heart.

What begins as comfort quickly turns hot. When Liam shows Talia a hint of the dominant nature inside him, the submissive part of her flares to life. Though she desires him, she’s going back on deployment and doesn’t want to dump all her drama on him. Will he find a way to break through the protective walls around her heart and convince her they have a future that goes far beyond the bedroom?

37,000 words

LET ME IN is a very emotional novella. A lot happens to Talia in a very short time, but instead of feeling like we only get the surface there is depth to the character. There isn’t as much to Liam, but he felt like more of a supporting character to me. Talia is the focus of the story and the romance helps her overcome and deal with the things happening around her. The story is short, but didn’t feel rushed. The sex scenes are hot and I fully believed in the happily ever after.

About the book:

Dannie Marino is hiking with colleagues when a sudden blizzard separates her from her group. She’s rescued by Lee, a dangerously sexy stranger who leads her to a remote cabin to weather the storm.

When the night inevitably ends in an intense erotic encounter, Dannie is both shocked and liberated by her response. But being intimate means letting herself be vulnerable, which isn’t her style. Lee tries to reach out to her, but she avoids any emotional entanglement by pushing him away.

Snowed in and unable to hide from each other, Dannie and Lee must both face up to their most closely guarded emotions. When the storm abates, will they be able to stop running from the past and live fully in the future?

I really enjoyed this book till the end. Both Dannie and Lee are fully realized characters with deep issues in their past that has kept them from being in a serious romantic relationship. When they are stranded in the cabin it enables them to take a step back from their reality and work toward a happy ever after. The relationship moves very quickly, but this is also due to their isolation. The ending isn’t a bad one, but I wanted to know that their happily ever after was going to stick. Their future is hinted at but not a fact. I would have loved to read what happened to the characters when they returned to reality and how their relationship played out in the real world.

About the book:

When Julie Streeter dropped out of law school to care for her little sister, one of the things she missed most was her crush-worthy classmate, Matt Ellis. Now, he’s visiting the firm where she works as a paralegal and is just as sexy now as he was then.

Matt Ellis never expected to run into Julie again–certainly not at the law firm where he’s been sent to investigate leaks to the opposing team. When he finds the list of things she’d like to try before her thirtieth birthday, very sexy things, on the office copier he offers to be her list buddy while he’s in town. And to his surprise, Julie agrees.

Will their mind-blowing chemistry lead to more than just a fling, or could what started out as a crush turn into something neither one of them expected?

I adored Manda Collins debut historical romance, but her erotic romance didn’t work for me. I liked Julie and felt like her character was fully realized, but Matt was flat. I know that the length of the book (72 pages) has something to do with how deep the author can go into the characters past and reasons for their actions, but there was a distinct lack of back-story for Matt.  The tension between the characters is well written and sexy, I think if this book had been longer and had more character depth I would have enjoyed it more.

Why did Lauren Vaughn introduce her sister to the man she herself was crazy about? Now Lauren is watching the happy couple at their combined bachelor/bachelorette party—while Lauren sits all alone at the bar. Until she spots a hot stranger with the telltale black handkerchief in his pocket: the signal for “seeks no-strings affair with sexy submissive.” Lauren can’t take her eyes off him. So when he comes over, she kicks her inner good girl to the curb and follows Jamie Forman to his room, where he makes her scream with pleasure all night long.

But Jamie is a complicated man. He can’t handle how desperately he wants her in his bed—and his life. It’s up to Lauren to teach him how to make all night last forever.

WICKED WEEKEND is hot, hot, hot! I loved how the author was able to establish an emotional connection between Jamie and Lauren in such a short story. At 25,000 words the action starts fast and there is no slowdown. WICKED WEEKEND is a fantastic short story and I can’t wait to read more from this author.

In a relationship built on lies…the only truth is their feelings for each other. To fulfill his grandmother’s dying wish, linebacker Cole Taylor must find – and marry – a good girl. First grade teacher Anna Davis fits the bill perfectly. Their deal is simple: If she’ll be his temporary wife, he’ll give her more pleasure than she ever imagined was possible. Only, love is the ultimate game-changer.

I read the first two books in this series forever ago and was excited when I saw there was a book three. I love Bella Andre’s sexy football players. There is a lot of hidden depth and emotion in the relationship that evolves between Anna and Cole. I loved how they learn more about each other through their sexual relationship as well as their day-to-day interaction. This book is an erotic romance so the sex and language are coarse at times.  I hope that Ms. Andre writes more Bad Boys of Football books in the future.
